Meet an alien at the Serpentine (for free!)

Detail of Metapanorama by Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster

VR exhibition Alienarium 5 has just opened in the Serpentine Gallery, creating a sci-fi environment where you encounter extraterrestrials.

Also - it’s free!

This is the brainchild of Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and her first major institutional solo show in the UK since TH.258 at Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall in 2008. The exhibition combines her decades-long interest in science fiction and continued research into deep space and alien life.

The work is site-specific to the Serpentine gallery and uses both the gallery’s internal and external spaces - perfect for summer :)

The cast list is as long as it is curious with Paul B. Preciado (writer and philosopher), Perez (musician), Barnabé Fillion (parfumier), Martial Galfione (architect), Mélanie Gerbeaux (hair and makeup artist) and Ivan Murit (artist and designer) all contributing to what promises to be a spectacular and otherworldly environment.

Tickets for Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster: Alienarium 5 at the Serpentine Gallery are available until 4 September and are free
